Objective: The upper limit of the fetal atrial width in normal fetuses is debated. This was a prospective cohort evaluation of the lateral ventricular width with special regard to the upper limit of its size.
Methods: Measurements of fetal atrial ventricular size were obtained by abdominal ultrasonography in 427 male and female fetuses between 20 and 40 weeks' gestation of normal singleton pregnancies. In addition, reanalysis of previous data (8 studies) and the current data was performed to produce a pooled mean and SD.
Results: The mean ventricular width +/- SD was 6.2 +/- 1.2 mm. The ventricular width did not show significant modification throughout gestation. Reanalysis of the current and previous studies (8216 cases) yielded a pooled mean of 6.4 +/- 1.2.
Conclusions: According to the current and previous studies, the upper cutoff of fetal ventricular atrium width should be 10 mm. This cutoff represents a range of approximately 3 SDs above the pooled mean, corresponding to a 99.74% confidence interval.

Objectives: The size, shape, and contractility of the heart's atrial chambers have not been evaluated in fetuses with growth restriction (FGR) or who are small-for-gestational-age (SGA) as defined by the Delphi consensus protocol. This study aimed to examine the atrial chambers using speckle tracking analysis to identify any changes that may be specific for either growth disturbance.
Methods: Sixty-three fetuses were evaluated with an estimated fetal weight <10th percentile who were classified as FGR or SGA based on the Delphi consensus protocol.

Background: Increased levels of platelet distribution width (PDW) can predict cardiac death and infarction recurrence in acute myocardial infarction. PDW appears to be a prognosis marker in acute heart failure (HF); however, its impact on chronic HF is still unknown. We investigated the impact of PDW on chronic HF.

: Post-hemicraniectomy patients often need extended intensive care treatment. While computed tomography (CT) is considered the gold standard for regular imaging, its frequent use could be linked to adverse clinical outcomes. This study aimed to assess bedside transcranial ultrasound (TUS) to capture intracranial anatomical structures and pathologies.

Background: The red cell distribution width (RDW) has been investigated as a predictive factor for complications and mortality in several critical illnesses, including cardiovascular diseases.
Objective: The current study aimed to assess the relationship of RDW with severity and in-hospital mortality in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Materials And Methods: A prospective hospital-based observational study was conducted at a tertiary care institute of Northern India.

Background: Interventricular dyssynchrony derived from the classic non-physiological stimulation (n-PS) of the right ventricle (RV) is a known cause of left ventricular dysfunction (LVDys).
Methods: This was a prospective descriptive single-center study. We analyzed patients who develop LVDys with n-PS, and the results after upgrading to conduction system pacing (CSP).
