The Ag cluster in solution has been prepared by a microwave high-pressure procedure. There is a maximum resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) peak at 425 nm (7.06 x 10(14) Hz) and a smaller RRS peak at 850 nm (1/2 x 7.06 x 10(14) Hz) by synchronous scattering at lambda(ex) = lambda(em). It is a nonlinear optical medium. When scattering the emission wavelength (lambda(em)) as the excited wavelength (lambda(ex)) at 425 nm (7.06 x 10(14) Hz), a maximum RRS peak was observed at 425 nm (7.06 x 10(14) Hz). A 1/2 fraction scattering peak at 850 nm (1/2 x 7.06 x 10(14) Hz) was also investigated. When lambda(ex) is at 850 nm (3.53 x 10(14) Hz), a frequency-doubling scattering peak at 425 nm is observed, and a RRS peak is displayed at 850 nm (3.53 x 10(14) Hz). When the lambda(ex) is two times longer than the maximum RRS wavelength (the strongest wavelength of pump band lambda(pb)) of an atomic cluster, a nonlinear scattering frequency-doubling peak (lambda(pb)) exhibits at half of the lambda(ex), which is stronger than the RRS peak. This phenomenon is defined as pump effect.

A new magnetic-liquid crystal nanosurface molecularly imprinted polymer (5CB-FeO@MIP) resonance Rayleigh scattering temperature sensor was prepared, using liquid crystal 4'-cyano-4'-pentylbiphenyl as the temperature sensing element, nano-FeO as the substrate, methacrylic acid as the functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the crosslinking agent. It was characterized by molecular spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The thermosensitive effect of 11 liquid crystals, that is, the relationship between RRS and temperature, was studied.

A novel gold nanocluster surface molecularly imprinted polyisopropylacrylamide probe (AuNC@MIP) was synthesized for the specific detection of NO, using N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) as the functional monomer, gold nanoclusters (AuNC) as the substrate, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linking agent, and nitrosophenol (NPN) produced from sodium nitrite (NaNO) and phenol (PN) as the template molecule, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as the solvent, and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator. The nanoprobe was characterized using molecular spectroscopy, XPS, TEM, TGA, and zeta potential analysis. The probes revealed a prominent resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) peak at 370 nm.
