Background: Histiocytic sarcoma originates in various tissues, including the skin, lymph nodes, gastrointestinal tract, lungs, bone marrow, and central nervous system. Primary central nervous system histiocytic sarcoma (PCNSHS) is exceptionally rare, known for its aggressive behavior and poor prognosis. This report describes a case of PCNSHS in the cerebellum treated with surgery and radiotherapy.

We report a case of a 42-year-old female who had non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema following a setting position craniotomy to remove a left cerebellar pontine angle mass. During the operation, the patient experienced a sudden drop in her end-tidal CO2 levels, which needed an immediate intervention. After ruling out other potential causes, we determined that air venous embolism was the cause of this unexpected and serious complication.

Cerebellar, Hippocampal, and Basal Nuclei Transient Edema with Restricted Diffusion (CHANTER) syndrome is a recently recognized distinct clinicoradiographic pattern of neurologic injury occurring most commonly following polysubstance or opioid abuse. Patients present acutely with unresponsiveness or coma. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging demonstrates key findings, including bilateral diffusion restriction in the cerebellar cortices and hippocampi and variable diffusion restriction in the basal ganglia.

Department of Neurosurgery, Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University, National Center for Children's Health, Beijing, 100045, China.

Background: This study aimed to establish a voxel-based map to predict the occurrence of cerebellar mutism syndrome (CMS) and investigate the relationship between CMS and motor dysfunction.

Method: This multicenter study cohort included 224 patients diagnosed with medulloblastoma at Beijing Children's Hospital (n = 88) and Beijing Tiantan Hospital (n = 136). The dataset was randomly divided into training (n = 95), test (n = 41), and validation (n = 88) datasets.

Acute liver failure results from severe hepatic injury and can lead to neurological dysfunction known as hepatic encephalopathy (HE). Thrombospondin-1 can contribute to HE by increasing cerebral edema and microglia activation in the azoxymethane (AOM) mouse model. CD47 is a receptor for TSP1 and can directly modulate inflammation in numerous disease states.
