Aim: To test IL-6 and IL-2 serum concentrations as indirect prognostic indicators in tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) course.
Material And Methods: 13 TBE patients' sera were examined for IL-2 and IL-6.
Results: IL-6 was not detected in patients with TBE fever but was detected in meningoencephalytic TBE.
Conclusion: TBE patients demonstrate a positive correlation between the disease severity and serum IL-6. This criterion is proposed as a prognostic factor of a TBE course.
