: While depression is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's dementia (AD), traditional AD-related biomarkers, such as amyloid-beta, have shown limited predictive value for late-life depression. Oxidative stress has emerged as a potential indicator given its shared role in both depression and dementia. This study investigated the longitudinal relationship between oxidative stress biomarkers and risk of dementia in patients with depression.

: Early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) is more frequently characterized by poorly differentiated, aggressive tumors, often diagnosed at advanced stages, and associated with worse prognoses. Despite these differences, current treatment guidelines do not distinguish between EOCRC and late-onset colorectal cancer (LOCRC). Elevated expression of polo-like kinase 1 (PLK-1) has been linked to advanced disease stages and poorer treatment outcomes, including resistance to both chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) allows for analysis of cardiac function and myocardial tissue characterization. Increased left ventricular mass (LVM) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular events; however, the diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy and its prognostic value strongly depend on the LVM indexation method. Evaluation of the quantity and distribution of late gadolinium enhancement assists in clinical decisions on diagnosis, cardiovascular assessment, and interventions, including the placement of cardiac implantable electronic devices and the choice of an optimal procedural approach.
