Hematological malignancies encompass a diverse array of subtypes, contributing to substantial heterogeneity that poses challenges in predicting clinical outcomes. Leveraging the capabilities of nuclear magnetic resonance holds substantial promise in the detection of serum biomarkers and individual metabolic alterations in patients. The study involved the analysis of the sera from patients with acute myeloid leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma to investigate the impacted metabolites and their associated pathways.

Background: Parkinson's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies are characterized by abnormal iron deposition in the substantia nigra, which can be measured with quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) on MRI. However, neuropathologic validation of the increased QSM in the substantia nigra associated with Lewy body disease (LBD) is lacking. We compared substantia nigra QSM on antemortem MRI between patients with and without Lewy-related pathology which was confirmed by autopsy in all cases.

Whereas different types of molecules, such as small molecules, peptides, and antibodies, have been used as ligands for targeting AD biomarkers/pathologies such as amyloid beta peptides (Aβs), current liquid biopsy approaches mostly use antibodies. However, the activity and affinity of the antibodies can vary depending on the source and preparation as well as the stability in storage.

High soluble protein expression in heterologous hosts is crucial for various research and applications. Despite considerable research on the impact of codon usage on expression levels, the relationship between protein sequence and expression is often overlooked. In this study, a novel connection between protein expression and sequence is uncovered, leading to the development of SRAB (Strength of Relative Amino Acid Bias) based on AEI (Amino Acid Expression Index).

Background: Previous models of resilience to Alzheimer's Disease (AD) have relied on cross-sectional designs and inclusion of measures of neuropathology. Here, we present a novel modeling approach incorporating longitudinal data and the use of APOE and higher order interaction terms to approximate neuropathological resilience, vastly increasing participant diversity and statistical power. We validate this approach and report novel genetic associations with neuropathological resilience.
