Correct placement of implants is a requirement for implant treatment. The use of computed tomography and precise surgical guides is required when inadequate bone support is anticipated. This article describes the fabrication and use of an acrylic resin dual-purpose guide for radiographic evaluation of recipient sites and implant placement, which uses internally stacked stainless steel surgical guide channels. The drill guides are machined to allow consecutive surgical drills to be used without changing the implant angulation during surgery.

Stereo-EEG is not just a diagnostic examination but a complex methodology, requiring an accurate synthesis of many data (anatomical, clinical, neurophysiological, cognitive, metabolic, and genetic). The implantation scheme is decided based on a hypothesis (or hypotheses) of epileptogenic zone localization. Subsequently, intracerebral electrical stimulation is used to define the extent of highly functional cortical regions and to reproduce the clinical symptoms and signs associated with seizures.

Article Synopsis
  • Mammary epithelial cells in sheep develop differently during pregnancy and lactation, with East FriEsian sheep known for high milk production compared to Sewa sheep, which has lower milk output.
  • Researchers established mammary epithelial cell lines from both breeds and confirmed their identities through specific markers.
  • RNA-seq analysis revealed significant differences in gene expression between the two breeds, highlighting 1813 differentially expressed genes and identifying ATF3 and MPP7 as key candidates for lactation regulation.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers developed BSe-B, a new photosensitizer for two-photon photodynamic therapy (TP-PDT) that targets cancer cells while sparing normal cells.
  • BSe-B combines a selenium-based dye with a biotin ligand for cancer selectivity, showcasing low toxicity and effective generation of reactive oxygen species.
  • The study's findings confirm BSe-B's potential for precise cancer treatment and imaging, making it a valuable tool for both diagnosis and therapy in cancer care.

Objectives: This case report describes a digital workflow for designing and 3D printing a guide with the dual purpose of gingivectomy and tooth preparation in the esthetic zone, to be followed by cementation of ceramic veneers under rubber dam isolation.

Clinical Considerations: The patient's primary concern was to improve her smile. After clinical evaluation, our recommendation was for a minimal gingivectomy to match the gingival zenith for both central incisors, to be followed by ceramic laminate veneers.

Lipid droplets (LDs) serve as vital subcellular organelles, crucial for the maintenance of lipid and energy homeostasis within cells. Their visualization is of significant value for elucidating the intricate interactions between LDs and other cellular organelles. Despite the importance of LDs, the literature on the utilization of phthalocyanine-based photosensitizers for targeted LD imaging and two-photon imaging-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT) remains sparse.
