Thiocolchicine is a colchicine-derivative used in the therapy of some diseases and extensively studied in the field of oncological research as antimitotic agent. Here we studied the activity of thiocolchicine on the cytoskeleton of the peroneus nerve, performing a histological and ultrastructural analysis. We observed a decrease in mean myelinated fiber area in thiocolchicine-treated rats in comparison to controls; this was due to a decrease in mean axoplasm area, while myelin thickness was constant. In the ultrastructural analysis a decrease in microtubule density and an increase in neurofilaments were found; moreover, the myelinated fibers seemed to be more affected in comparison to the unmyelinated axons. These findings are in agreement with the capability of binding to microtubule skeleton shared by all the colchicinoids.

Individuals with chronic ankle instability (CAI) exhibit a variety of sensorimotor deficits which contribute to long-term health risks and lower overall health-related quality of life. Recent literature finds abnormal cutaneous reflex characteristics and perceptions of instability during gait among those with CAI. These may serve as important patient-specific outcome measures in diagnosing and monitoring the condition, however, the test-retest reliability of these measurements is still undetermined.

Background: Whereas uncomplicated labral tears with preserved fibers can be effectively treated with use of labral repair techniques, complex tears and hypoplastic labra require labral reconstruction. Standard reconstruction techniques feature grafted tissue that is added to existing, deficient tissue or that is utilized to replace a hypoplastic labrum entirely. However, such approaches utilizing allografts or remote autografts are limited because they often necessitate extensive debridement of the existing labrum to prepare a site for graft implantation, an approach that can damage and devascularize the chondrolabral junction.

Introduction: Approximately 60-70% of individuals with diabetes experience varying degrees of damage to their nervous system, resulting in a condition known as diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). DPN usually involves distal body parts and is characterised as distal symmetrical sensorimotor neuropathy which is progressive in nature and follows a "glove and stocking pattern". It has significantly contributed to neuropathic pain, decreased nerve conduction velocity (NCV), impaired proprioception, compromised balance, and postural instability.
