Self-managed abortion (SMA) refers to actions people take to end a pregnancy outside the formal health care system. There are a variety of reasons people choose to self-manage their abortions, and these reasons may vary based on regional contexts. For some people, medically delivered abortion care is no longer, or has never been, available in their community.

The American Heart Association recently defined the complex interactions among the cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic systems as CKM syndrome. To promote better patient outcomes, having a more profound understanding of CKM pathophysiology and pursuing holistic preventative and therapy strategies is critical. Despite many gaps in understanding CKM syndrome, this study attempts to elucidate two of these gaps: the new emerging biomarkers for screening and the role of inflammation in its pathophysiology.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune illness affecting joint articulations, leading to a disability state. Currently, there is no satisfying optimal therapy except for immunosuppressants, which have variable and bad effects after long-term use. Hence, researchers have attempted to develop other alternative, safer, and more effective natural treatment agents that are effective and without undesirable effects.

Identifying new molecular therapies targeted at the severe hepatic fibrosis associated with the granulomatous immune response to Schistosoma mansoni infection is essential to reduce fibrosis-related morbidity/mortality in schistosomiasis. In vitro cell activation studies suggested the lipid molecule prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) as a potential pro-fibrotic candidate in schistosomal context, although corroboratory in vivo evidence is still lacking. Here, to investigate the role of PGD2 and its cognate receptor DP2 in vivo, impairment of PGD2 synthesis by HQL-79 (an inhibitor of the H-PGD synthase) or DP2 receptor inhibition by CAY10471 (a selective DP2 antagonist) were used against the fibrotic response of hepatic eosinophilic granulomas of S.

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a life-threatening event that is associated with RNA modification and programmed cell death (PCD). This study attempted to investigate the impacts of zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 13 (ZC3H13)-mediated N6-methyladenosine (m6A) on ferroptosis in AMI.
Methods: The infarcted areas and cardiac function were evaluated, and the expression level of ZC3H13 was measured in AMI rats that were induced by isoproterenol.
