The objective of this study was to develop sustained release Poloxamer 407 (P407) gel formulations of ceftiofur for treating foot infections in cattle. The formulations contained 25-35% (w/v) P407 alone or with polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), carboxy methylcellulose (CMC), or hydroxylpropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) as an additive. The in-vitro release profiles of ceftiofur from the P407 formulations and the gel dissolution profiles were obtained simultaneously. Ceftiofur release followed zero order kinetics and correlated well with the weight percentage of P407 dissolved, indicating that the overall rate of release of ceftiofur is controlled by dissolution of the P407. An increase in P407 content from 25 to 35% resulted in a decrease in the rate of ceftiofur release. However, it appears that other factors may have also affected the drug release rate. Inclusion of PVP, CMC, and HPMC in the gel decreased the rate of release of ceftiofur to some extent. A decrease in the temperatures of the release medium decreased the release rate of ceftiofur, but not the rate of gel dissolution. The pH of the release medium showed a very slight effect on the release of ceftiofur and did not affect gel dissolution due to the non-ionic nature of P407.

A 44 year-old previously healthy woman presented a persistent epigastric pain. Computed tomography revealed a saccular aneurysm with a diameter of 25x20 mm in the first jejunal artery and also a stenosis in the celiac trunk associated with median arcuate ligament syndrome, turning the hepatic perfusion dependent of the gastroduodenal artery flow. Through a midline laparotomy, celiac axis was exposed, and median arcuate ligament released for median arcuate ligament syndrome treatment.

Introduction: In this study, we analyzed the psychological aspects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients who were discharged from the hospitals in Shanghai, China, and later had positive nucleic acid retest results for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Omicron variant infection (re-positive COVID-19). The purpose was to gain clarity on the patients' needs and to provide evidence for the medical staff to deliver scientific and targeted health care to the patients.
Methodology: We screened patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant infection by nucleic acid testing after having previously recovered from a COVID-19 infection and being discharged from Shanghai shelter hospitals or COVID-19-designated hospitals from April 3, 2022, to May 10, 2022.

Introduction: Hemoperfusion (HP), a blood filtration method targeting the removal of toxins and inflammatory elements, was investigated in this study. The objective was to present the observations in four individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who underwent several rounds of HP utilizing the HA330 cartridge at a hospital in Indonesia.
Case Studies: We report four cases of COVID-19 patients who underwent HP.

Membrane fusion is central to fundamental cellular processes such as exocytosis, when an intracellular machinery fuses membrane-enclosed vesicles to the plasma membrane for contents release. The core machinery components are the SNARE proteins. SNARE complexation pulls the membranes together, but the fusion mechanism remains unclear.

Background: Arginine infusion stimulates copeptin secretion, a surrogate marker of arginine vasopressin (AVP), thereby serving as a diagnostic test in the differential diagnosis of suspected AVP deficiency (AVP-D). Yet, the precise mechanism underlying the stimulatory effect of arginine on the vasopressinergic system remains elusive. Arginine plays a significant role in the urea cycle and increases the production of urea.
