Two decades of research have established the zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a significant model system for studying vertebrate development and gene structure-function relationships. Recent advances in mutation screening, the creation of genomic resources, including the Zebrafish Genome Project and the development of efficient transgenesis procedures, make this model increasingly attractive for immunological study.

Background: Estimating the prevalence of schizophrenia in the general population remains a challenge worldwide, as well as in Japan. Few studies have estimated schizophrenia prevalence in the Japanese population and have often relied on reports from hospitals and self-reported physician diagnoses or typical schizophrenia symptoms. This study evaluated the role of temperature and fine particulate matter in hospitalizations of children living in Cuiabá-MT, obtained from DATASUS, between 01/01/2016 and 12/31/2018. Daily concentrations of the pollutant fine particulate matter were estimated using the CAMS mathematical model, made available by CPTEC. Diagnoses of tracheitis and laryngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, bronchiolitis and asthma were included.
