A simple, rapid and sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method was proposed for the determination of lomefloxacin (LFX). This method is based on the fact that the weak CL from the redox reaction of Ce(4+)-Na(2)SO(3) can be greatly enhanced by the complex of Tb(3+)-LFX. The CL intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of LFX in the range 2.0x10(-9) to 1.0x10(-5) mol L(-1), and the detection limit (S/N=3) is 1.1x10(-9) mol L(-1). This method has been applied to the detection of LFX in pharmaceutical preparation, urine and serum samples. Recoveries were in the range 95-105%. The CL mechanism of Ce(4+)-Na(2)SO(3)-Tb(3+)-LFX system was proposed to be an intermolecular energy transfer from excited SO(2)(*) to LFX and an intramolecular energy transfer from LFX to Tb(3+).

This study aimed to investigate the differences in the mechanisms of microscopic hepatotoxicity, developmental toxicity, and neurotoxicity in aquatic organisms co-exposed to styrene-butadiene rubber tire microplastics (SBR TMPs) and fluoroquinolone antibiotics (FQs). We found that hepatotoxicity in zebrafish induced by SBR TMPs and FQs was significantly higher than developmental toxicity and neurotoxicity. Furthermore, the main effects of the FQs primarily manifested as synergistic toxicity, whereas the low- and high-order interactions of the FQs mainly exhibited synergistic and antagonistic effects, respectively.

To investigate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and assess the ecological risks associated with emerging contaminants (ECs) in the Beijiang drinking water source, non-targeted screening was conducted using the ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry technique (UPLC-MS) for one year (June 2022 to May 2023). This study also involved the quantitative detection of eight typical ECs. The results showed that through the non-targeted screening, a total of 346 pollutants were identified, with industrial materials, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides being the predominant pollutants, collectively accounting for 88.

Lomefloxacin hydrochloride (LMFX) and sodium salicylate (SS) are important targets for real-time detection due to their widespread uses in daily life; accurate and portable monitoring of LMFX and SS is crucial for human health concerns accordingly. Developing a precise and smart platform for determination of the above analytes remains a significant challenge. Herein, a high-sensitivity platform incorporating a luminescence electrospinning film, self-designed smart-phone app, and portable 3D printing device has been developed to identify LMFX and SS.

Herein, a novel UV spectrophotometric method coupled with chemometric tools was developed for the simultaneous determination of three fluoroquinolone antibiotics: ciprofloxacin, lomefloxacin, and enrofloxacin. Such integration of UV spectroscopy and chemometric analysis proved to be a simple, rapid, and cost-effective approach for the quantification of these clinically important pharmaceutical compounds and aid in their quality control analysis. The method employed firefly algorithm for variable selection and partial least squares (PLS) regression for model calibration.

Yancheng coastal wetland, the largest coastal wetland in the west coast of the Pacific Ocean and the margin of the Asian continent, has significant environmental, economic and social effects on local human beings. The extensive contamination and potential risk of quinolone antibiotics (QNs) on local aquaculture and human health are still not clear until now. In this study, 52 surface sediment samples were collected to investigate the contamination status and polluted sources, and evaluate ecological risks of QNs in the south of Yancheng coastal wetland.
