With the advancement of precise hepatobiliary surgery concepts, the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for hepatic echinococcosis have undergone significant transformations. However, whether these changes have correspondingly improved patient outcomes remains unclear. A retrospective analysis of these changes will provide crucial guidance for the prevention and treatment of hepatic echinococcosis.

Extensive evidence suggests a correlation between environmental pollutants, specifically perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This study aims to investigate the association and underlying mechanisms of PFAS-induced NAFLD in adolescents by employing a comprehensive approach of population-based studies, toxicogenomics, and animal models. A total of 2014 freshmen from Dali University were recruited for this study, with 1694 participants undergoing serum testing for PFAS exposure.

Background: Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FL-HCC) clinically occurs in young people aged 20-30 years, who often have a normal liver background. We propose a treatment for such cases in which a combination therapy of atezolizumab and bevacizumab is followed by sandwiching radiation therapy to release tumor antigens and then re-administering the combination therapy of atezolizumab and bevacizumab (ABC conversion therapy).

Case: The patient is a 15-year-old girl.

Combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CCA), an extremely rare and underinvestigated subtype of primary liver cancer in children, generally has a poor prognosis and greater aggressiveness. Histological diagnosis of cHCC-CCA is difficult because of its diverse components, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). cHCC-CCA shares some genetic alterations with HCC and CCA.

Introduction: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a major contributor to hepatobiliary mortality in the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). Infection with the carcinogenic trematode Opisthorchis viverrini (OV), acquired through consumption of insufficiently-cooked river fish, is a known risk factor for the development of CCA. Together with OV, other risk factors contribute to the pathogenesis of CCA.
