The ING family of proteins are involved in chromatin remodelling, and bind to and affect the activity of histone acetyltransferase, histone deacetylase, and factor acetyltransferase protein complexes. Some family members affect transcription, including the expression of p53-inducible genes such as p21 and Bax, and ING2 induces p53 acetylation on a site implicated in the regulation of p53 activity. ING1 promotes DNA repair and interacts with proliferating cell nuclear antigen, thus linking DNA repair, apoptosis and chromatin remodelling. Here, we summarize what is known about the molecular interactions of ING1 family proteins and, based on these interactions, develop a model to better understand the impact of ING proteins on multiple biological processes.

Purpose Of Review: In this article, we describe current and newer TTR stabilizers, TTR silencers which include small interfering RNA agents (siRNA), antisense oligonucleotides (ASO) and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, and TTR depleters, which investigates the use of monoclonal antibodies to remove amyloid fibril deposits for patients with advanced disease.
Recent Findings: Once thought to be a rare and fatal condition, increased recognition, improved non-invasive diagnostic tools, and the explosive development of novel therapies, has transformed the landscape of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). Advances in cardiac imaging with respect to echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), and radionuclide bone scintigraphy has increased the diagnosis of ATTR-CM over the last twenty years.

Background: Male infertility (MI) is a polygenic condition mainly induced by spermatogenic failure/arrest or systemic disease with a large clinical spectrum. Lately, genetic sequencing allowed the identification of several variants implicated in both aforesaid situations.
Methods And Results: In this case study, we performed whole exome sequencing (WES) on the genomic DNA of a 37-year-old Moroccan man with Non-Obstructive Azoospermia.

Most studies on the effects of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) have relied on terrestrial irradiation using spatially homogeneous dose distributions of mono-energetic beams comprised of one ion species. Here, we exposed mice to novel beams that more closely mimic GCR, namely, comprising poly-energetic ions of multiple species. Six-month-old male and female C57BL/6J mice were exposed to 0 Gy, 0.

Identifying hormone-like quorum sensing (QS) molecules in streptomycetes is challenging due to low production levels but is essential for understanding secondary metabolite biosynthesis and morphological differentiation. This work reports the discovery of a novel γ-butenolide-type signaling molecule (SFB1) via overexpressing its biosynthetic gene (orf18) in Streptomyces fradiae. SFB1 was found to be essential for production of tylosin through dissociating the binding of its receptor TylP (a transcriptional repressor) to target genes, thus activating the expression of tylosin biosynthetic gene cluster (tyl).

Analyze the clinical phenotype and gene mutations of a family with hereditary FXII deficiency, and preliminarily explore its phenotypic manifestations. The routine coagulation indicators and related coagulation factors were measured.Thromboelastography and thrombin generation tests simulated coagulation and anticoagulation states in vitro and in vivo.
