Objective: To identify the most important antecedents associated with adolescent initiation of sex, contraceptive use, and pregnancy.
Methods: Statistically significant antecedents in more than 250 studies were identified and summarized.
Results: More than 100 antecedents create a complex and detailed picture of the correlates of adolescent sexual behaviors. They describe characteristics of the adolescents themselves, their partners, peers, families, schools, and communities, as well as relationships to these entities. They included antecedents that were inherently sexual and nonsexual.
Conclusions: To reduce teen pregnancy substantially, multiple sexual and nonsexual antecedents in different clusters may need to be addressed.

Background/aim: Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis, though rare, is the most common form of autoimmune encephalitis, predominantly affecting young individuals, particularly females. Standard treatments include corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG), and plasmapheresis, with rituximab recommended for those unresponsive to first-line therapies. However, reliable biomarkers for clinical assessment remain elusive.

Introduction: Early initiation of antenatal care visits creates an opportunity for early detection of high-risk pregnancies, pregnancy complications, health education, and counseling about successful care and nutrition of the mother and the fetus. Thus, the main objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with the early initiation of antenatal care visits in Ethiopia.
Methods: The study was conducted based on the children's data set of the 2019 Ethiopia mini-demographic and health survey.

This study evaluates the association between immunization program (IP) activities aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among adolescents and their impact on initiation rates. Our data sources are: (i) 2016 AIM Annual Survey and (ii) 2019 National Immunization Survey-Teen. We estimated the prevalence of HPV vaccine initiation using a multilevel Poisson model, combining state-level IP data and individual characteristics of adolescents.

Hand-arm bimanual intensive therapy (HABIT) enhances upper extremity (UE) function and bimanual coordination in children with unilateral cerebral palsy (UCP). Previous studies assessed immediate improvements in UE function using clinical and self-reported measures, which may not accurately reflect real-world UE performance and their long-term retention effects. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the retention of real-world bimanual performance gains over time following HABIT in children with UCP.
