Background: Elevated blood pressure (BP) prompts immediate emergency department (ED) visits instead of outpatient care, thus constituting a high-weight concern for the ED. This study investigated the short- and long-term outcomes of high BP patients in the ED.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH), reviewing ED visits from January to December 2022.

Eccrine acrospiromas, also known as hidradenomas, are rare benign tumors that develop from the eccrine sweat glands. Hidradenoma is a multilobular, nonencapsulated, well-circumscribed dermal nodule that may involve the epidermis and extend into the subcutaneous fat. The etiology and prevalence of nodular hidradenoma are not well defined, but it is noted that it can occur spontaneously or traumatically.

This case report highlights the complex clinical presentation of a 43-year-old male with a history of renal transplantation, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, who developed viral meningitis with probable metabolic encephalopathy. The multidisciplinary approach involved infectious disease specialists, transplant nephrologists, and neurologists. This case provides unique learning points such as highlighting the complexities of diagnosing and managing viral meningitis in an immunocompromised post-transplant patient, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, innovative medication delivery, and awareness for complications such as metabolic encephalopathy and persistent fevers.
