Objectives: To examine the rate of skin color reporting in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving melanoma in the top ten highest dermatology journals by impact factor over the past four decades.
Methods: A systematic review of RCTs involving melanoma within the top ten dermatology journals, as determined by impact factor, was conducted from inception to July 10th, 2023. Studies were included if they reviewed the diagnosis and/or treatment of melanoma, were RCTs, directly involved patients and were written in English.

Background: Cadmium (Cd), classified as an International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Group 1 human carcinogen, is present in cigarette smoke. Recent studies have illustrated the potential role of genetics in influencing Cd biomarker levels.
Methods: We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of urinary Cd levels in 1977 current smokers from the Multiethnic Cohort Study, comprising participants from five different racial and ethnic groups.

Over the last ten years, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has organized an annual influenza forecasting challenge with the motivation that accurate probabilistic forecasts could improve situational awareness and yield more effective public health actions. Starting with the 2021/22 influenza season, the forecasting targets for this challenge have been based on hospital admissions reported in the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) surveillance system. Reporting of influenza hospital admissions through NHSN began within the last few years, and as such only a limited amount of historical data are available for this target signal.

Ampicillin (AMP) ranks third among the top ten most frequently sold antibiotic combinations globally, raising concerns due to its extensive use. Improper disposal practices in agriculture, aquaculture, and healthcare have led to environmental contamination of water sources with elevated AMP levels. Current methods for detecting such contamination are costly, require sophisticated equipment, and depend on skilled personnel and unstable natural receptors.

Background Toothbrush manufacturers commonly use bristle materials such as nylon, polybutylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, boar hair, bamboo, carbon fiber, silicone, polylactic acid, or their modifications such as Curen. Nylon filaments have long been demonstrated to be durable and are widely used, but not much is known regarding the performance of Curen filaments compared to nylon filaments. This in vitro study compared the stiffness, abrasion potential, abrasion resistance, and bristle surface changes of Curen and nylon filaments.
