An interesting case of a child with a tail is reported. The child had a tail like structure in the back since birth, increasing with age. It was 20 cm. long, the longest tail so far described in the English literature. There was no functional complain. The result was excellent after excision as the problem was only cosmetic.

Circadian rhythm disruption (CRD), stemming from sleep disorders and/or shift work, is a risk factor for reproductive dysfunction. CRD has been reported to disturb nocturnal melatonin signaling, which plays a crucial role in female reproduction as a circadian regulator and an antioxidant. The hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis regulates female reproduction, with luteinizing hormone (LH) pulse pattern playing a pivotal role in folliculogenesis and steroidogenesis.

Background: Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms (SPNs) arising in the body or tail of the pancreas can be amenable to laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy with or without concomitant splenectomy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy for SPN using the Warshaw technique as a means to preserve spleens in children.
Methods: We reviewed our database of SPN patients 19 years and younger (January 2006-December 2023).

Background: Thyroid hormone (T3) has an inhibitory effect on tissue/organ regeneration. It is still elusive how T3 regulates this process. It is well established that the developmental effects of T3 are primarily mediated through transcriptional regulation by thyroid hormone receptors (TRs).

Objective: The current treatment of venous malformations (VMs) consists of medications with systemic toxicity and procedural interventions with high technical difficulty and risk of hemorrhage. Using nanoparticles (NPs) to enhance drug delivery to VMs could enhance efficacy and decrease systemic toxicity. NPs can accumulate in tissues with abnormal vasculature, a concept known as the enhanced permeation and retention (EPR) effect.
