Purpose: Up to 74% of breast cancer survivors (BCS) treated with aromatase inhibitor (AI) experience AI-induced musculoskeletal symptoms (AIMSS). AIMSS is the predominant cause of poor adherence to AI therapy, yet no definitive treatment exists. The primary research objectives of this study were (1) to develop a novel BCS-specific complex intervention to alleviate AIMSS, and to assess its feasibility.

Steroid hormone imbalance is associated with the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. However, affected enzymes of steroid metabolism and gene and protein expression in serum and placenta have not been elucidated yet. We aimed to investigate steroid hormone profiles and precursor-to-product ratios in preeclamptic women compared to women with healthy pregnancy (controls) to identify potentially affected steroid hormones and their metabolizing enzymes.

Adenomyosis is an important clinical condition with uncertain prevalence, and clinical focus on adenomyosis in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) has increased during recent years. Recognizing the limited clinical knowledge on the impact of adenomyosis on ART outcomes, the First Lugano Adenomyosis Workshop was a symposium involving experts in the field of adenomyosis, covering basic research, imaging, surgery and infertility to highlight current advances and future research areas over a wide range of topics related to adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is characterized by altered oestrogen and progesterone signalling pathways.

Committed to our growing effort addressed toward the development of potent anti-breast cancer candidates, new 4-hydrazinylpyrimidine-5-carbonitriles featuring a morpholinyl or piperidinyl moiety at the position-2 and derivatized with various functionalities at the hydrazinyl group were designed through structure optimization, and their antiproliferative potency against two human breast cancer (BC) cell lines, relative to the reference drug 5-FU, was evaluated. Compounds showing remarkable cytotoxic activity versus the hormone dependent MCF-7 cell line (IC = 1.62 ± 0.

Background: Aromatase inhibitor is associated with a high incidence of Aromatase Inhibitor-Associated Musculoskeletal Syndrome (AIMSS) in postmenopausal women with hormone-sensitive breast cancer.
Objective: This scoping review aims to identify available information regarding the frameworks, models, or strategies of adapted physical activity (APA) programs implemented for the prevention and management of AIMSS.
Methods: Search was realized by two independent reviewers in six databases following PRISMA-ScR guidelines.
