Three main treatments are available for management of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Both induction and maintenance therapies should be considered for treatment of CIDP. Plasma exchange and intravenous immunoglobulin therapy are effective as induction treatments for CIDP, and corticosteroid administration, such as daily oral or pulse therapies, may be effective for both induction and maintenance.

Background: Current guidelines recommend that hyperthyroid patients should be rendered euthyroid prior to surgical procedures. These guidelines rely heavily on the use of ATDs as the primary medication, and do not give recommendations for patients who have contraindications to ATDs, or for whom standalone ATD treatment is inadequate.
Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjunctive pharmacological therapy and/or therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) in the perioperative management of patients with thyrotoxicosis who were intolerant to ATD or for whom standalone ATD therapy was inadequate to achieve euthyroidism prior to surgery.

Background: As a group of more than 3.67 million people, the bone health of Chinese plasmapheresis donors, which the main population is also a risk group of osteoporosis (OP), has raised concerns. Therefore, this article investigates the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD), bone metabolism indicators, and plasmapheresis donation behavior among some high-risk plasmapheresis donors for OP in China, and further explores the mediating factors through reasonable statistical methods.

Introduction: Thyroid storm or severe hyperthyroidism can present with various signs and symptoms. They are mostly controlled by general treatment, such as anti-thyroid drugs and other medications to control clinical features. However, in rare cases, they are more severe, and they only respond to more aggressive treatments, such as plasmapheresis and total thyroidectomy.
