Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most common chronic endocrine diseases, characterized by hyperglycemia, due to abnormal nitric oxide synthesis. The trend of an increase in the number of patients with DM continues. A 16.50 kg, 5-year-old male mixed breed dog presented due to complications following a ureterocolonic anastomosis performed to manage of ureteral and urinary bladder injuries. The first revision surgery involved reimplantation of the ureters into the cranial aspect of the prepuce.

Distal fibula fractures involving the ankle are one of the most common fractures, often requiring open reduction and internal fixation with plates and screws. The increased incidence of potential wound complications arising from open reduction methods led to a rejuvenated interest in the application of minimally invasive methods like intramedullary nailing of the fibula in the management of ankle fractures and isolated distal fibular fractures. A literature search was performed using Medline, Cochrane, and Embase from 1993 to 2023.

Posterior sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) dislocation is a rare but potentially life-threatening injury due to its proximity to critical mediastinal structures. Early diagnosis and prompt management are essential to prevent severe complications such as vascular or respiratory compromise. We report a case of a 23-year-old male who presented to our emergency department five days after a high-energy motor vehicle accident with isolated, closed posterior dislocation of the SCJ.

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare the outcomes of Trans-umbilical single-port laparoscopic complete extraperitoneal closure (LCEC) and laparoscopic intracorporeal closure (LIC) for inguinal hernia by analysis of follow-up data over 5 years.
Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled trial, 524 children with inguinal hernia were randomly assigned to undergo LCEC or LIC between August 2016 and December 2017. The primary outcome measures were the success and recurrence rates.
