Quantum computing by an optimal control algorithm for unitary transformations.

Phys Rev Lett

Published: October 2002

Quantum computation is based on implementing selected unitary transformations representing algorithms. A generalized optimal control theory is used to find the driving field that generates a prespecified unitary transformation. The approach is independent of the physical implementation of the quantum computer and it is illustrated for one and two qubit gates in model molecular systems, where only part of the Hilbert space is used for computation.

Adding secondary cognitive tasks to drop vertical jumps alters the landing mechanics of athletes with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

J Biomech

January 2025

Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation, Unit of Physiotherapy, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden. Electronic address:

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reinjury rates among athletes remain very high despite screening protocols designed to assess readiness for return to sport. To better identify biomechanical risk factors for ACL injury, combining neurocognitive challenges and high-impact tasks would more closely resemble sporting demands. We investigated the influence of secondary cognitive tasks on landing mechanics during bilateral drop vertical jumps (DVJs) among athletes following ACL reconstruction and whether sex affected these results.

Chitosan-based injectable porous microcarriers with enhanced adipogenic differentiation and angiogenesis for subcutaneous adipose tissue regeneration.

Biomater Adv

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Theoretical Organic Chemistry and Functional Molecule of the Ministry of Education, Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Controllable Preparation and Functional Application of Fine Polymers, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University of Science and Technology, Xiangtan, PR China. Electronic address:

Chitosan is a promising biomaterial for tissue engineering, but its functionality is limited by a lack of bioactive sites. This study develops chitosan/amniotic membrane microcarriers to enhance vascularization and tissue regeneration for subcutaneous adipose tissue. The incorporation of decellularized amniotic membrane enhances the bioactivities of chitosan in promoting cell differentiation and angiogenesis.

Mechanism of structural and functional changes of matcha bread dough during freezing storage.

Food Chem

December 2024

College of Food and Health, Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, No. 666 Wusu Road, Linan District, 311300 Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Electronic address:

This study aimed to investigate the effects of freezing duration and matcha concentration on the rheological properties, moisture distribution, and multiscale structure of dough. The results indicated that both freezing and high concentrations of matcha (≥1 %) significantly reduced the stiffness of the dough matrix, restricted its ability to expand during fermentation, and disrupted the structure of gluten protein. Furthermore, freezing induced moisture redistribution within the dough.

Epilepsy is a serious neurological disease that impacts all facets of a patient's life, including their socioeconomic situation. The failure to identify underlying epileptic signatures in their early stages might result in severe harm to the central nervous system (CNS) and permanent adverse changes to some organs. Therefore, numerous antiepileptic drugs (AEDs are frequently used to control and treat the frequency of seizures.
