Rice is a staple food in East and Southeast Asian countries, rice disease surveillance and warning is particularly important. Rice stripe disease and southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus disease are the insect-borne viral diseases that easily break out and quickly become epidemic. It is important to improve the efficiency of the virus detection method.

Background: Hemoglobin (Hb) Hekinan is a prevalent α-globin variant frequently missed in thalassemia screening centers using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or capillary electrophoresis. This study aims to investigate the hematological and molecular characteristics of Hb Hekinan in a large cohort.
Methods: Hb variants were identified using isoelectric focusing (IEF) and HPLC.

Since 1987, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) has performed a substantial number of heart transplants as a specific therapy for advanced-stage heart failure. This descriptive study aimed to analyze post-transplant survival in the recent era compared to earlier periods and examine the pharmacogenetics of related immunosuppressants. Data from all recipients who underwent heart transplants from 1987 to 2021 were retrospectively retrieved from the electronic medical record.

Although Vietnamese people are the largest population among foreign workers in Japan, evidence concerning their help-seeking experiences and strategies to promote help-seeking in this population is lacking. This study aimed to identify the percentage of Vietnamese migrant workers in Japan who have sought help from healthcare professionals for depressive symptoms and to explore the factors related to their intentions to seek help from a psychiatrist.

Therefore, it is necessary to determine the genetic risk of these diseases in specific populations.
