Published: July 2002

Objective: To evaluate the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features characterizing embryonal tumors in the spinal canal.

Methods: Retrospective analyses of the MR images were conducted in 6 patients with surgically and pathologically confirmed embryonal tumors in the spinal canal.

Results: Epidermoid cysts in 3 cases displayed a variety of non-characteristic signal intensity patterns on T1- and T2-weighted images (T1WI and T2WI). Lipomas in 2 cases showed high signal intensity on T1WI and attenuated to intermediate signal intensity on T2WI. An intramedullary neurenteric cyst in 1 case was illustrated as low signal intensity on T1WI and high signal intensity on T2WI.

Conclusion: The MRI presentation of embryonal tumors in the spinal canal with the exception of lipomas is devoid of typical features, and their MRI diagnosis should be complemented by history of developmental anomaly and pathological and etiological findings.

Lesion Location and Possible Etiology of Acute Unilateral Vestibulopathy.

Int J Gen Med

January 2025

Department of Neurology, Aerospace Center Hospital, Peking University Aerospace School of Clinical Medicine, Beijing, 100049, People's Republic of China.

Objective: Acute unilateral vestibulopathy (AUVP) is quite common in clinical practice, but lesion localization and etiological diagnosis of AUVP remain the current clinical challenges, and have always been the focus for researchers. The study aimed to explore the lesion site and possible etiology of AUVP.

Methods: This study is a retrospective study.

With enrichment of tetracycline (TC) in ecosystems, its accurate detection has become a major concern. Noble-metal nano-particles have attracted great interest as potential materials for sensing applications because of their remarkable electrical properties and adaptability. Herein, a novel electro-chemical detection technique based on carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) as the support material is developed to detect TC with high precision.

Upon exposure to salt stress, calcium signaling in plants activates various stress-responsive genes and proteins along with enhancement in antioxidant defense to eventually regulate the cellular homeostasis for reducing cytosolic sodium levels. The coordination among the calcium signaling molecules and transporters plays a crucial role in salinity tolerance. In the present study, twenty-one diverse indigenous rice genotypes were evaluated for salt tolerance during the early seedling stage, and out of that nine genotypes were further selected for physio-biochemical study.

Background: Acute pain management is critical in postoperative care, especially in vulnerable patient populations that may be unable to self-report pain levels effectively. Current methods of pain assessment often rely on subjective patient reports or behavioral pain observation tools, which can lead to inconsistencies in pain management. Multimodal pain assessment, integrating physiological and behavioral data, presents an opportunity to create more objective and accurate pain measurement systems.
