Objective: To investigate the effect of superselective intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced recurrent cancer in the remnant stomach after previous partial gastrectomy.

Methods: Eighteen patients with advanced recurrent cancer in the remnant stomach that were non-resectable as confirmed in the operations were included in this study, who subsequently received superselective intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy.

Results: Improvement of the symptoms to various degrees were achieved in all patients after the therapy, with the total rate of tumor reduction of 77.8% and pathologically confirmed improvement rate of 83.3%. The 0.5-, 1.0-, 1.5- and 2.0-year survival rates were 94.4%, 66.7%, 50.0% and 27.8% respectively.

Conclusion: Superselective catheterization is effective in treatment of advanced recurrent cancer in the remnant stomach, which can significantly prolong the tumor-bearing survival period of the patients.

Background: The incidence and mortality of lung cancer is the highest among malignant tumors worldwide, and it seriously threatens human life and health. Surgery is the primary radical treatment for lung cancer. However, patients often experience discomfort, changes in social roles, economic pressures, and other postsurgical challenges.

Objective: In recent years, many studies have investigated the triggers, perpetuating factors, and outcomes of Fear of Cancer Recurrence (FCR), highlighting its complexity with multiple dimensions that encompass both antecedents and consequences. In this sense, the cognitive approach to FCR has explored variables such as metacognition, maladaptive coping strategies, and intolerance of uncertainty (IU). On the other hand, the findings of a restricted number of studies investigating the relationship between FCR and stated variables appear to be inconsistent.

Background: Compared to older adults with breast cancer (BC), adolescents and young adults (AYAs) develop more aggressive disease necessitating more intensive therapy with curative intent, which is disruptive to planned life trajectories. The burden of unmet needs among AYA BC survivors exists in two domains: (1) symptoms (e.g.

The long-term impact of postoperative morbidity following laparoscopic liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma is unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients were affected by postoperative morbidity after laparoscopic liver resection. Hepatocellular carcinoma patients who underwent curative-intent laparoscopic liver resection were included.

Although breast cancer treatment has evolved significantly in recent years, drug resistance remains a major challenge. To identify new targets for breast cancer, we found that stage-specific embryonic antigen 4 (SSEA-4) is expressed in all subtypes of breast cancer cell lines, and the increased expression of the associated enzymes β3GalT5 and ST3Gal2 correlates with poor recurrence-free survival (RFS) in breast cancer. We also found that SSEA-4 antibodies can be rapidly internalized into breast cancer cells, a property that makes SSEA-4 an attractive target for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
