Five studies merged the priming methodology with the bystander apathy literature and demonstrate how merely priming a social context at Time 1 leads to less helping behavior on a subsequent, completely unrelated task at Time 2. In Study 1, participants who imagined being with a group at Time 1 pledged significantly fewer dollars on a charity-giving measure at Time 2 than did those who imagined being alone with one other person. Studies 2-5 build converging evidence with hypothetical and real helping behavior measures and demonstrate that participants who imagine the presence of others show facilitation to words associated with unaccountable on a lexical decision task. Implications for social group research and the priming methodology are discussed.

Objective: The expanding field of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) for non-malignant diseases, including those amenable to gene therapy or gene editing, faces challenges due to limited donor availability and the toxicity associated with cell collection methods. Umbilical cord blood (CB) represents a readily accessible source of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs); however, the cell dose obtainable from a single cord blood unit is frequently insufficient. This limitation can be addressed by enhancing the potency of HSPCs, specifically their capacity to reconstitute hematopoiesis.

Background: Short dentin etching, a relatively recent technique, aims to improve resin-dentin bonding by preserving hydroxyapatite crystals within the collagen spaces. This study explores short dentin etching's potential in mitigating over-etching issues in deep proximal dentin/cementum margins, an aspect not previously investigated. This study evaluates the microtensile bond strength (μTBS) and marginal adaptation of two universal adhesives using different etch-and-rinse strategies (15-second and 3-second etching) and self-etch strategies, both immediate and post-thermal cycling and mechanical loading.

Background: Limited data are available on the global rates of paediatric multiple sclerosis. Here, we report on the estimated worldwide prevalence of paediatric MS.
Methods: We included paediatric prevalence data in 2020-2022 (Multiple Sclerosis International Federation Atlas of MS) and the prevalence of child neurologists (International Child Neurology Association).
Glufosinate (GLUF) and glyphosate (GLY) are nonselective phosphorus-containing amino acid herbicides that are widely used in agricultural gardens and noncultivated areas. These herbicides give rise to a number of key metabolites, with 3-methyl phosphinicopropionic acid (MPPA), -acetyl glufosinate (-acetyl GLUF), aminomethyl phosphonic acid (AMPA), -acetyl aminomethyl phosphonic acid (-acetyl AMPA), -acetyl glyphosate (-acetyl GLY), -methyl glyphosate (-methyl GLY) as the major metabolites obtained from GLUF and GLY. Extensive use of these herbicides may lead to their increased presence in the environment, especially aquatic ecosystems.

Background: Community Health Workers locally known as Village Health Workers (VHW) in Lesotho are key members of the primary health workforce, and has been playing a significant role in building primary health systems in many countries and they can fill significant gaps in human resources as low and middle income countries work towards universal health coverage in the era of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2014 Lesotho health reform restructured the VHW program to compensate, professionalize, and integrate VHWs into primary care services. We sought to document the ways in which the VHW program changed as a result of the health reform and the perceived impact of those changes.
