Background: A preterm neonate is defined by the World Health Organization as a child delivered before 37 weeks of gestation. In low- and middle-income countries, including Ethiopia, preterm-related complications are serious health problems due to increases in the mortality and morbidity of newborns and children under 5 years of age. The aim of this study was to assess the time to neonatal mortality and its predictors among preterm neonates admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit in northern Ethiopia, 2023/2024.

Problem: Tongue tie is an added complication when breastfeeding, but little is known about the role tongue tie might play when breastfeeding twins.
Background: Twins are much less likely to be breastfed than singleton babies due to added complications regarding pregnancy, birth and ongoing care. Tongue tie can cause breastfeeding barriers including poor latch, inefficient milk transfer and nipple pain.

(1) Background: Chagas disease is a public health problem affecting nearly 2 million women of reproductive age in Latin America. From these, 4-8% can transmit the infection to the foetus through the vertical route, whereas horizontal transmission through milk during breastfeeding remains controversial. Objectives: To investigate potential sleep inequities between the infants of Māori and non-Māori mothers in Aotearoa New Zealand, identify socio-ecological factors associated with infant sleep, and determine features of infant sleep that contribute to a mother-perceived infant sleep problem.
Design: Secondary analysis of longitudinal data from the Moe Kura: Mother and Child, Sleep and Well-being in Aotearoa New Zealand study when infants were approximately 12 weeks old.

Objective: Post-cesarean delivery (CD) acute pain may progress to chronic pain, which may impair maternal bonding and child development. In 2013, we compared the efficacy of versus on-demand oral analgesia for post-caesarean pain in a randomized-controlled-trial. The fixed-time-interval group had received scheduled paracetamol, tramadol, and diclofenac regardless of pain level, and the on-demand group received medication as needed, with oxycodone reserved for unrelieved pain in both groups.
