Recently, it has been shown experimentally that the nonlinearity in nematic liquid crystals can govern spatial solitons in both waveguide and bulk geometry. Such solitons require a few milliwatts of light power and can be controlled by the state of light polarization or by an external electrical field. In this paper a detailed theoretical analysis of optical solitary waves in nematic liquid crystal waveguides is presented. The self-focusing is induced by reorientation nonlinearity in the homeotropically aligned nematic layer. This configuration corresponds to the experimental setup in which we previously observed such solitary waves. The theoretical results presented in this paper correlate exactly with the experiments.

Background: Digital gaming has become increasingly popular among older adults, potentially offering cognitive, social, and physical benefits. However, its broader impact on health and well-being, particularly in real-world settings, remains unclear.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the multidimensional effects of digital gaming on health and well-being among older adults, using data from the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study conducted in Matsudo City, Chiba, Japan.
A coherent concatenation of multiple solitary waves may lead to a stable infrared and visible broadband filament in a ceramic YAG polycrystal. This self-trapped soliton train is leveraged to implement self-referenced multiplex coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (SR-M-CARS) imaging. Simulations and experiments illustrating the filamentation process and the concatenation of focusing-defocusing cycles in ceramic and crystal YAG are presented.

In this study, the -model expansion method is showed to be useful for finding solitary wave solutions to the Klein-Gordon (KG) equation. We develop a variety of solutions, including Jacobi elliptic functions, hyperbolic forms, and trigonometric forms, so greatly enhancing the range of exact solutions attainable. The 2D, 3D, and contour plots clearly show different types of solitary waves, like bright, dark, singular, and periodic solitons.

The (3+1)-dimensional mKdV-ZK model is an important framework for studying the dynamic behavior of waves in mathematical physics. The goal of this study is to look into more generic travelling wave solutions (TWSs) for the generalized ion-acoustic scenario in three dimensions. These solutions exhibit a combination of rational, trigonometric, hyperbolic, and exponential solutions that are concurrently generated by the new auxiliary equation and the unified techniques.

The formation of a S-shaped filament was investigated to determine if and how magnetoacoustic waves in the solar corona can trigger filament excitation. The study investigated how magnetoacoustic waves interact with two magnetic null points in the solar corona. Since the solar corona has a complex magnetic field structure, it is expected that magnetic structures are predominantly responsible for the occurrence of coronal events.
