At present the disorders of lipid metabolism and connected diseases are studied insufficiently. Some disorders with the basis of lipid metabolism disorders are combined into the lipid distress-syndrome. The clinical study of 60 patients with expressed dislipoproteidemia (48 female and 12 male) in the age 46-79 years were made by the clinical observation, estimation of biochemical indexes, lipid blood spectrum, viral hepatitis markers, ultrasonic and liver biopsy. Obtained results showed that the patients with dislipoproteidemia had the expressed liver disorders which were typical for the clinical-morphological characteristics of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. In patients with cardio-vascular pathology, atherosclerosis and dislipoproteidemia in 90% of cases the detected liver dystrophy can be considered as pre-stage of NASH.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of three levels of lipids in the diet on growth, metabolism, and intestinal and hepatic histopathology in discus fish (Symphysodon aequifasciatus). Fish were stocked in quadruplicate in aquarium (50L) and were fed experimental diets containing three levels (3%, 10%, and 14%) of dietary lipids (LP). At the end of the trial, no significant differences in growth performance were observed.

Intracranial optical imaging of glioblastoma (GBM) is challenging due to the scarcity of effective probes with blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and sufficient imaging depth. Herein, we describe a rational strategy for designing optical probes crossing the BBB based on an electron donor-π-acceptor system to adjust the lipid/water partition coefficient and molecular weight of probes. The amphiphilic hemicyanine dye (namely, IVTPO), which exhibits remarkable optical properties and effective BBB permeability, is chosen as an efficient fluorescence/photoacoustic probe for in vivo real-time imaging of orthotopic GBM with high resolution through the intact skull.

This study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the acute and subacute safety and phytochemical profile of pomegranate leaves, aligning with the growing interest in sustainable, plant-based therapeutics. The phytochemical composition, the acute and subacute toxicity of a spray-dried hydroethanolic extract from pomegranate leaves (SDE) were investigated using experimental animal models. Utilizing UV-visible spectrophotometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), a diverse array of tannins and flavonoids, totaling 38 compounds, was identified.

Background And Objectives: Despite growing interest in how patient frailty affects outcomes (eg, in neuro-oncology), its role after transsphenoidal surgery for Cushing disease (CD) remains unclear. We evaluated the effect of frailty on CD outcomes using the Registry of Adenomas of the Pituitary and Related Disorders (RAPID) data set from a collaboration of US academic pituitary centers.
Methods: Data on consecutive surgically treated patients with CD (2011-2023) were compiled using the 11-factor modified frailty index.
