Author analyses the process of care of somatic symptom disorder in the general medical practice with special concern to iatrogenic harms. In his opinion the latency of the patients' first appointment with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist is caused by multiple factors. Patients do not have knowledge on the basic activities of central nervous system necessary to recognize the pathomechanism.

Background: High-income countries are currently decreasing length of hospital stay (LOS), with the aim of improving resource utilization. Little is known about the contribution of LOS to short-term post-discharge mortality in older patients with pneumonia.
Aim: to identify factors independently associated with LOS and to determine whether LOS predicts 3-month post-discharge death in older patients hospitalized for pneumonia.

Design: The Baseline Investigation of Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (BASIC-OHCA) is a prospective, multicenter, population-based registry of emergency medical services (EMS)-assessed OHCA in China.
Setting: A total of 25 monitoring sites of all seven geographical regions were included, covering a pediatric population (age ≤ 19) of around 22.
