Carney's complex is characterized by cardiac myxomas, adrenocortical disease, growth hormone-secreting adenomas, and other types of tumors. Its prevalence and incidence are unknown. The anesthesiologist must examine the patient or order tests to exclude cardiac tumors, signs of excess cortisol secretion, acromegaly, and possible peripheral nerve root involvement.

Cell viability assays are an integral component of toxicology and high-throughput drug screening studies; however, many assays rely on a single biomarker of cell death which provides an incomplete assessment of cell viability. Here, we introduce an innovative approach that combines data from multiple assays using a linear mixed effects regression model and principal component analysis. We explored the cytotoxic response of various assay-treatment combinations using four assays with distinct mechanisms of action and seven different treatments across three types of microtissue cultures.

Antibiotic resistant bacteria are increasingly being found in aquatic environments, representing a potential threat to public health. To examine the dynamics and potential sources of antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) in urbanised waterways, we performed a six-month temporal study at six locations within the Sydney Harbour estuary. These locations spanned a salinity gradient from seawater at the mouth of the harbour to freshwater at the more urbanised western sites.
