Family physicians frequently encounter neck masses in adult patients. A careful medical history should be obtained, and a thorough physical examination should be performed. The patient's age and the location, size, and duration of the mass are important pieces of information. Inflammatory and infectious causes of neck masses, such as cervical adenitis and cat-scratch disease, are common in young adults. Congenital masses, such as branchial anomalies and thyroglossal duct cysts, must be considered in the differential diagnosis. Neoplasms (benign and malignant) are more likely to be present in older adults. Fine-needle aspiration and biopsy and contrast-enhanced computed tomographic scanning are the best techniques for evaluating these masses. An otolaryngology consultation for endoscopy and possible excisional biopsy should be obtained when a neck mass persists beyond four to six weeks after a single course of a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

Klippel-Feil syndrome (KFS) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by the fusion of cervical vertebrae, with a clinical presentation that can vary widely due to genetic and phenotypic diversity. While KFS can occur as an isolated anomaly, it is often associated with other congenital conditions, such as Sprengel deformity, which may present with or without an omovertebral bone, complicating diagnosis and management. This particular case also involves diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), the most common subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Methods: Patients were divided into two groups, based on their pain relief at the 6-month postoperative follow-up: the pain relief group and the persistent pain group. We compared various parameters, including age, sex, body mass index (BMI), duration of symptoms, preoperative Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, Neck Disability Index (NDI) score, postoperative ratio of disc space distraction, preoperative width of the intervertebral foramen (WIVF), and area of the intervertebral foramen (AIVF) between the two groups.
