Target odorant detection in mixtures has been shown to become more difficult as the number of background odorants increases and falls below chance level in mixtures with 16 components. Our aim was to investigate target odorant detection in mixtures among healthy people and compare it between dysosmic patients and age- and gender-matched controls. Participants underwent extensive olfactory testing and performed two target odorant detection tasks.

Some large social environments are expected to use Covered Path Planning (CPP) methods to handle daily tasks such as cleaning and disinfection. These environments are usually large in scale, chaotic in structure, and contain many obstacles. The proposed method is based on the improved SCAN-STC (Spanning Tree Coverage) method and significantly reduces the solution time by optimizing the backtracking module of the algorithm.

Background: Hand disinfection is often omitted during emergencies because it may delay life-saving treatments. As healthcare-associated infections significantly worsen patient outcomes, the categorical omission of hand disinfection in emergencies should be re-evaluated.
