Background: Allied health professionals (AHPs) in inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism services work in cultures dominated by other professions who often poorly understand their roles. Furthermore, identified learning from safety incidents often lacks focus on AHPs and research is needed to understand how AHPs contribute to safe care in these services.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a debilitating inflammatory disease with a profound impact on quality of life for affected patients and caregivers. The patient journey in hidradenitis begins with symptom onset and proceeds through diagnosis and treatment. It is fraught with misdiagnosis, lack of awareness, misinformation, and inappropriate treatments that lead to shame, blame, isolation, and medical mistrust.

Adverse events are a global challenge and the leading cause of litigation in the world. In the current study, a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive design was used to explore and describe the experiences of midwives in relation to adverse events that occurred in the obstetric units of the selected district of Gauteng province, South Africa. Non-probability purposeful sampling was used to select 25 midwives who work in obstetric units in the selected district of Gauteng Province, South Africa, In-depth face-to-face interviews were conducted with each participant at their workplace.
