In this study, the kidneys of ground squirrels (hibernated and nonhibernated), rabbits, and rats were examined macro and microanatomically. Kidney morphology was investigated by stereo microscopy, light microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Triple and immunohistochemical staining were performed for light microscopic examinations.

Background: Pancreatic cancer is highly aggressive and has a low survival rate primarily due to late-stage diagnosis and the lack of effective early detection methods. We introduce here a novel, noninvasive urinary extracellular vesicle miRNA-based assay for the detection of pancreatic cancer from early to late stages.
Methods: From September 2019 to July 2023, Urine samples were collected from patients with pancreatic cancer (n = 153) from five distinct sites (Hokuto Hospital, Kawasaki Medical School Hospital, National Cancer Center Hospital, Kagoshima University Hospital, and Kumagaya General Hospital) and non-cancer participants (n = 309) from two separate sites (Hokuto Hospital and Omiya City Clinic).
Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) has previously been used as an umbrella term to describe a spectrum of hypocomplementemic glomerular diseases, which are rare causes of end stage kidney disease (ESKD). We present a 22-year-old man with a well-established medical history who had been complaining of 4 days of frothy dark urine, bilateral lower limb swelling, and puffiness on his face. For a month before his presentation, he had many bilateral skin lesions on his lower limbs that were leaking pus.

This study aimed to investigate varying clinical features and pathogen characteristics of UTIs, thereby offering a holistic perspective on the multifaceted aspects of UTIs in neonates.

Homocystinuria is a disorder of methionine metabolism leading to abnormal accumulation of homocysteine and its metabolites in blood and urine. This condition presents with a wide range of cutaneous and systemic features. This case report focuses on the particular cutaneous finding of silvery hair in this patient and its examination under a microscope that reveals an unusual and not yet reported finding of melanin clumps.
