Identification and functional characterization of the C2H2 ZFP transcription factor CmSUP7 in regulating melon plant growth and fruit development.

Plant Physiol Biochem

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Herbage & Endemic Crop Biology, Ministry of Education, School of Life Sciences, Inner Mongolia University, Hohhot, 010070, China. Electronic address:

The SUPERMAN (SUP) proteins, which belong to the single C2H2 zinc finger proteins (ZFP) subclass, participate in various aspects of gene regulation in plant morphogenesis and stress response, but their role in melon (Cucumis melo) is still largely unknown. We identified a total of 28 CmSUP genes in the melon genome, all containing QALGGH conserved domain. Collinearity analysis showed that melon had several homologous gene pairs with Arabidopsis and tomato, indicating the gene duplication events during the evolution.

Non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) is a common musculoskeletal issue that can limit function and reduce the patient's quality of life. Enhancing spinal stabilizer muscle activity through targeted exercises may help improve spinal alignment and alleviate NSLBP symptoms. This study aimed to investigate whether incorporating the abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) into selected low back exercises influences the electromyographic (EMG) activity of key spinal extensor muscles.

Background: To investigate the asymmetry of paravertebral muscles during the superman exercise in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, and to analyze the applicability of this exercise for the rehabilitation of these patients from the perspective of muscle electromyographic activity.

Methods: 37 patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis are selected for this study. Surface electromyography signals of the bilateral paravertebral muscles during the daily sitting and the superman exercise are recorded.

Division mechanism of labor in Diqing Tibetan Pigs gut microbiota for dietary fiber efficiently utilization.

Microbiol Res

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Animal Nutrition, College of Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, Yuanmingyuan West Road 2, Haidian District, Beijing 100193, China. Electronic address:

The Diqing Tibetan (TP) pig is an roughage tolerance breed that inhabits an area with the highest altitude distribution in the world and can be maintained on a diet containing 90 % forage material in confined production systems. Our results showed that TP pigs had a strong capability for high-efficiency utilization of arabinose and xylose. Metagenomic analysis revealed that the secretion of carbohydrate esterases was mainly undertaken by fecal strains of Microbacterium, Alistipes, Acinetobacter, and Faecalibacterium, while Microbacterium, Prevotella, Turicibacter, Lactobacillus, Clostridium, and Streptococcus were responsible for most of the secretion of glycoside hydrolases.
