Background: Postoperative delirium (POD) is a condition of cerebral dysfunction and a common complication after surgery. This study aimed to compare and determine the relative efficacy of pharmacological interventions for preventing POD using a network meta-analysis.
Methods: We performed a systematic and comprehensive search to identify and analyze all randomized controlled trials until June 29, 2020, comparing two or more pharmacological interventions, including placebo, to prevent or reduce POD.

Herein, we report a super-active electrocatalyst of copper(II) oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) decorated functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CuO NPs@f-MWCNTs) by the ultrasonic method. The as-synthesized CuO NPs@f-MWCNTs was characterized through the FESEM, XPS, XRD and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The combination of highly active CuO NPs and highly conductive f-MWCNTs film with rapid detection enables this nanohybrid to display excellent electrochemical performance towards anesthesia drug.

Background: Perioperative hypothermia is still very common and associated with numerous adverse effects. The effects of benzodiazepines, administered as premedication, on thermoregulation have been studied with conflicting results. We investigated the hypotheses that premedication with flunitrazepam would lower the preoperative core temperature and that prewarming could attenuate this effect.

In the late 90s a new surgical technique for a more physiological treatment of hemorrhoids was introduced: stapled prolassectomy.
Materials And Methods: Between October 2017 and June 2018 we performed 50 hemorrhoidal stapled prolassectomies under local-regional anesthesia.

Objectives: To investigate changes in sedation practice during 2012-2015, using a large health claims database, for catheter ablation (CA), gastrointestinal endoscopic examination (EE), and surgery (ES) after dexmedetomidine (DEX) was approved for procedural sedation in 2013. We assessed the trends of sedative utilization, sedative-analgesic combinations, and, additionally, incidence of complications from 2012 to 2015.
Methods: Using the database provided by Medical Data Vision Co.
