Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of premature death in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and vascular damage is often detected belatedly, usually evaluated by expensive and invasive techniques. CKD involves specific risk factors that lead to vascular calcification and atherosclerosis, where inflammation plays a critical role. However, there are few inflammation-related markers to predict vascular damage in CKD.

Background: Deceased donor multiorgan transplants utilizing kidneys (MOTs) can improve outcomes for multiorgan recipients but reduces kidneys for chronic renal failure patients.
Methods: We reviewed the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network database from 2015 through 2019, for adult deceased donor kidney transplants. Recipients were classified as kidney transplant alone (KTA) (n = 62,252) or MOTs pancreas-kidney, simultaneous pancreas-kidney (n = 3,976), liver-kidney, simultaneous liver-kidney (n = 3,212), heart-kidney, simultaneous heart-kidney (n = 808), and "other"-kidney, simultaneous "other" kidney (n = 73).

Background: Little is known about the quality of life (QoL) of caregivers of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) along the disease continuum. We investigated factors associated with low QoL among caregivers of patients with CKD including those on dialysis. We also examined the relationship between kidney disease severity and the QoL of caregivers.

The malnutrition-inflammation score (MIS) is a practical and accessible tool for evaluating protein energy wasting (PEW) in patients on dialysis. However, the severity of PEW at each stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially with late dialysis initiation, is unclear. We evaluated the MIS of 3659 patients with CKD stages 1-5 and the changes in their MIS results at baseline and at the time before dialysis initiation.

Objectives: Managing presenteeism among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is important for balancing disease management and employment. This study aimed to investigate presenteeism, exercise self-efficacy (SE), and physical function indices in workers with CKD and to examine the factors that influence presenteeism in this patient group.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 36 workers with stage 3-5 pre-dialysis CKD.
