Background: Computerized clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are increasingly being used in clinical practice to improve health care delivery. Mobile apps are a type of CDSS that are currently being increasingly used, particularly in lifestyle interventions and disease prevention. However, the use of such apps in acute patient care, diagnosis, and management has not been studied to a great extent.

The transition from secondary school to college or university is a well-known and well-studied risk period for weight and/or fat gain and not meeting the dietary recommendations. Higher education acts as a promising setting to implement nutrition interventions. An important condition for intervention success is that interventions are implemented as intended by the protocol and integrated in the institutional policy.

Objective Interventions that reduce sitting time are easier to implement than those that aim to increase physical activity in compliance with the guidelines. There is no consensus on the association between sitting time as assessed by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and physical function. We investigated the association between self-reported sitting time and physical function according to the Kihon Checklist (KCL) among community-dwelling older adults.

Arterial stiffness, as determined by pulse wave velocity (PWV), is a recognized marker of cardiovascular risk. Noninvasive technologies have enabled easier and more accessible assessments of PWV. The current gold standard for measuring carotid-femoral PWV (cfPWV)-a reliable indicator of arterial stiffness-utilizes applanation tonometry devices, as recommended by the Artery Society Guidelines.
