Background: Left atrial epicardial adipose tissue (LA-EAT) is associated with the recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmias (AF/AT) after catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, no previous studies have assessed the predictive value of segment-specific LA-EAT volumes for AF/AT recurrence. This study aimed to assess the relationship between segmental LA-EAT volume and AF/AT recurrence.

Unlabelled: A 34-year-old man with a history of Kawasaki disease had been experiencing chest pain at rest since middle school. Multidetector-row computed tomography showed no aneurysm formation; however, the right coronary artery had an anomalous origin with moderate stenosis. Invasive coronary angiography revealed moderate right coronary artery stenosis with a fractional flow reserve of 0.

Objectives: The aortic root (AoR) rotation and its spatial morphology at the base of the heart were postulated but not described in every detail. AoR rotation modalities may play an important role in decision-making during AoR surgery and its outcome. The aim was to provide a detailed spatial anatomy of the AoR rotation and its relation to the vital surrounding structure.

Multidetector CT-derived tricuspid annulus measurements predict tricuspid regurgitation reduction after transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Clin Radiol

October 2023

Department of Cardiology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, 37 Guoxue Road, 610041 Chengdu, China. Electronic address:

Aim: To use multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT)-derived tricuspid annulus (TA) measurements to identify predictors for tricuspid regurgitation (TR) reduction after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and to investigate the impact of TR change on prognosis.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective, single-centre study was conducted on consecutive patients who underwent TAVR with concomitant baseline mild or more severe TR from April 2012 to April 2022. TA parameters were measured using MDCT.

3D-transesophageal echocardiography (3D-TEE) is an alternative to multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) for aortic annulus (AoA) sizing in preparation for Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). We aim to evaluate how the fully automated (auto) and semi-automated (SA) TEE methods perform compared to conventional manual TEE method and the gold standard MDCT for annulus sizing both in expert and novice operators. In this prospective cohort study, eighty-nine patients with severe aortic stenosis underwent multimodality imaging with 3D-TEE and MDCT.
