Under the conditions of out health care system it is best to install first small-dose digital fluorographs at urban polyclinics and use as movable plants. The basis of a diagnostic study of pulmonary tuberculosis is to monitor X-ray changes in the process by a series of X-ray images and tomographic scans. At the same time paper imprints obtained by printers (including laser ones) lose as much as 30% of image details so computer images rather than hard paper copies should be used for comparison in practice of the X-ray units of dispensaries. Computers are required for dispensaries: for each X-ray specialist, the head of a unit, deputy head physician in therapeutics so that the use of a digital fluorographic plant should be as much as effective.

Even without diseases that cause dysphagia, physiological swallowing function declines with age, increasing the risk of aspiration. This study analyzed age-related changes in laryngeal movement in older adults. The study population consisted of 10 volunteers in their 80s and six in their 20s.

Purpose: We develop and validate a motion model that uses real-time surface photogrammetry acquired concurrently with four-dimensional computed tomography (4DCT) to estimate respiration-induced changes within the entire irradiated volume, over arbitrarily many respiratory cycles.

Methods: A research, couch-mounted, VisionRT (VRT) system was used to acquire optical surface data (15 Hz, ROI = 15 × 20 cm ) from the thoraco-abdominal surface of a consented lung SBRT patient, concurrently with their standard-of-care 4DCT. The end-exhalation phase from the 4DCT was regarded as reference and for each remaining phase, deformation vector fields (DVFs) with respect to the reference phase were computed.

Real-Time Patient Radiation Dose Monitoring System Used in a Large University Hospital.

J Digit Imaging

October 2016

Department of Radiologic Science, College of Health Science, Korea University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Radiation dose monitoring in medical imaging examination areas is mandatory for the reduction of patient radiation exposure. Recently, dose monitoring techniques that use digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) dose structured reports (SR) have been introduced. The present paper discusses the setup of a radiation dose monitoring system based on DICOM data from university hospitals in Korea.

A practical method for skin dose estimation in interventional cardiology based on fluorographic DICOM information.

Radiat Prot Dosimetry

March 2016

Clinical & Radiation Physics, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, Derriford Hospital, Derriford Road, Plymouth PL6 8DH, UK.

A practical method for skin dose estimation for interventional cardiology patients has been developed to inform pre-procedure planning and post-procedure patient management. Absorbed dose to the patient skin for certain interventional radiology procedures can exceed thresholds for deterministic skin injury, requiring documentation within the patient notes and appropriate patient follow-up. The primary objective was to reduce uncertainty associated with current methods, particularly surrounding field overlap.
