We consider a two-dimensional random resistor network (RRN) in the presence of two competing biased processes consisting of the breaking and recovering of elementary resistors. These two processes are driven by the joint effects of an electrical bias and of the heat exchange with a thermal bath. The electrical bias is set up by applying a constant voltage or, alternatively, a constant current. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to analyze the network evolution in the full range of bias values. Depending on the bias strength, electrical failure or steady state are achieved. Here we investigate the steady state of the RRN focusing on the properties of the non-Ohmic regime. In constant-voltage conditions, a scaling relation is found between

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder that affects women of reproductive age and is characterized by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction and polycystic ovarian morphology. PCOS is often associated with hormonal imbalances, metabolic dysfunction and comorbid psychiatric disorders, including eating disorders (EDs). The review identifies key hormonal factors-serotonin, leptin, insulin, ghrelin, kisspeptin and cortisol-and their roles in the pathophysiology of PCOS and associated psychiatric symptoms.

The electrical resistance (ER) method is widely used for atmospheric corrosion measurements and can be used to measure the corrosion rate accurately. However, severe errors occur in environments with temperature fluctuations, such as areas exposed to solar radiation, preventing accurate temporal corrosion rate measurement. To decrease the error, we developed an improved sensor composed of a reference metal film and an overlaid sensor metal film to cancel temperature differences between them.

In today's industrial landscape, optimizing energy consumption, reducing production times, and maintaining quality standards are critical challenges, particularly in energy-intensive processes like resistance spot welding (RSW). This study introduces an intelligent decision support system designed to optimize the RSW process for steel reinforcement bars. By creating robust machine learning models trained on limited datasets, the system generates interactive heat maps that provide real-time guidance to production engineers or intelligent systems, enabling dynamic adaptation to changing conditions and external factors such as fluctuating energy costs.

Liver Enriched Antimicrobial Peptide 2 (LEAP2) is a fascinating peptide that has gained significant attention since its discovery in 2003. Initially identified as an antimicrobial peptide, LEAP2 has more recently been found to play a key role in the regulation of energy metabolism. One of the most notable functions of LEAP2 is its interaction with the ghrelin hormone, which is known for stimulating hunger.
