The expected increase and diversification of single cell proteins production already requires the development of convenient methods for the identification of producing strains from the processed S.C.P., i.e. killed and dried cells. A simple immunological method based on double immunodiffusion analysis is proposed, that enables the identification of Toprinal L (Candida tropicalis), Toprina G (Candida lipolytica) and Pruteen (Pseudomonas methylotropha), all S.C.P. having received an approval from different european countries. Sensitivity and specificity are high enough to enable the identification of these products mixed to feeds in concentrations as low as 5 p. cent (1 p. cent with Pruteen).

Background: Disturbances of protein O-GlcNAcylation have pointed out as a possible link between altered brain metabolism and cognitive decline. We previously demonstrated the disruption of O-GlcNAcylation homeostasis, as an effect of altered OGT and OGA regulatory mechanism, and we confirmed the relevance of O-GlcNAcylation in the appearance of Alzheimer disease hallmarks in the brain of a murine model of Down syndrome (DS). Furthermore, we provide evidence for the neuroprotective effects of brain-targeted OGA inhibition (Thiamet G).

Background/aim: This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy (DA) for colorectal adenomas (CRA), screened by fecal immunochemical test (FIT), using five artificial intelligence (AI) models: logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), neural network (NN), random forest (RF), and gradient boosting machine (GBM). These models were tested together with clinical features categorized as low-risk (lowR) and high-risk (highR).
Patients And Methods: The colorectal neoplasia (CRN) screening cohort of 5,090 patients included 222 CRA patients and 264 non-CRA patients.

Aim: To assess recent colonoscopies and CT scans in conjunction with the feacal immunochemical test (FIT) for possibly downgrading urgent suspected cancer (USC) referrals.
Methods: A retrospective single-centre study was conducted, including all USC referrals for colonoscopy in 2022, excluding anal cancers. The CT and colonoscopy findings for a two-year period prior to the referral, along with the FIT result (if done), were noted.

Background: The colorectal cancer mortality rate in China has exceeded that in many developing countries and is expected to further increase owing to multiple factors, including the aging population. However, the optimal policy for colorectal cancer screening is unknown.
Methods: We synthesized the most up-to-date data using a 12-state Markov model populated with a cohort of Chinese men and women born during 1949-1988, and evaluated 16 conventional and 40 risk-tailored schemes for colorectal cancer screening, considering possible combinations of age (starting at 40 + years and ending at 75 years), frequency, and strategy (standard colonoscopy, fecal immunochemical testing with colonoscopy if positive, or risk-tailored).
