Objectives: To describe detailed surgical techniques for totally stapled intracorporeal anastomosis (TSIA) and determine their feasibility and safety by comparing short-term outcomes with those of conventional totally stapled extracorporeal anastomosis (TSEA).

Methods: In total, 59 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic colectomy between June 2018 and August 2021 were retrospectively assessed. Linear staplers were used for all anastomoses.

Background: Laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) with Billroth I (B-I) reconstruction is frequently performed for gastric cancer. However, the difference between the circular stapler technique (CS) and delta-shaped anastomosis (DA) remains unclear, especially regarding the postoperative endoscopic physiological findings.

Methods: Three hundred and one patients including 150 CS patients and 151 DA patients during LADG with B-I reconstruction between 2013 and 2019 at Saitama Medical University International Medical Center were chosen as study subjects.

Introduction: Laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG) is the standard treatment for gastric cancer, during which the laparoscopic Billroth I anastomosis technique, also known as the delta-shaped anastomosis (DA), is widely performed. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in short- and long-term symptoms between DA and traditional circular anastomosis (CA) techniques.

Methods: We retrospectively compared DA and CA procedures in patients undergoing LDG and subsequent reconstruction using the Billroth I method at the Kanagawa Cancer Center from 2017 to 2022.

Background: Several methods are used for reconstruction in colon cancer surgery, including hand-sewn or stapled anastomosis. However, few reports have compared short-term outcomes among reconstruction methods. This study compared short-term outcomes between delta-shaped anastomosis (Delta) and functional end-to-end anastomosis (FEEA).
