The anti-morphine peptide PPC from dog brain has an inhibitory effect on morphine analgesia. It is highly homologous to DBI. The analgesic effect of bovine DBI was measured, showing the potentiation effect on morphine analgesia. In order to study the relationship between PPC and DBI, cDNA library derived from dog liver had been screened using partial gene of rat DBI as a probe. A positive clone was obtained. The entire sequence of the insert of this positive clone provided complete sequence of a peptide which was identified as the DBI peptide. It shows 88.5% homology with pig DBI, 87.4% with bovine, 83.9% with human, 46.5% with yeast, respectively. The sequence of N-terminal 50 amino acid residues except 55th, 58th site and C-terminal 17 amino acids is the same to DBI from dog. PPC has 23 amino acids more than DBI inside.

Geometric morphometrics is used in the biological sciences to quantify morphological traits. However, the need for manual landmark placement hampers scalability, which is both time-consuming, labor-intensive, and open to human error. The selected landmarks embody a specific hypothesis regarding the critical geometry relevant to the biological question.

Herein, a new metal-free, molecular chlorine-free, environmentally friendly, atom-economical, short time, inexpensive and simple operation method with mild reaction conditions for chlorination of alkenes, cyclic alkenes, ,-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, heteroaromatics, and natural products was reported with up to 96% yields using trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) as the electrophilic chlorine source and TBACl as the nucleophilic chlorine source. It was demonstrated with bicyclic alkene benzonorbornadiene that regioselective chlorobromination and dibromination reactions can be carried out through TCCA/TBABr redox reactions, where TCCA acts as an oxidant in the presence of TBABr. The structures of the redox products were confirmed as a result of control experiments conducted with the newly presented DBI/TBACl and DBI/TBABr halogenation pairs.

Furthermore, a 4,4'-Br substituted DBI was used to form host-guest RTP systems with 15 different aromatic guest molecules, to tune the phosphorescence emission color from blue to red and to demonstrate the versatility of the host.

In this paper, a multilayer monopulse antenna at Ku-Band with high efficiency, high power handling capability, high gain, 45° linear polarization and low sidelobe is presented. A new slot antenna is proposed as a radiating element based on a cavity-backed slot-coupled patch antenna. Using an enclosed cavity structure reduces coupling between antenna elements, thus increasing the antenna efficiency.

Somatic and genetic mutations in glutathione peroxidases (GPxs), including GPx7 and GPx8, have been linked to intellectual disability, microcephaly, and various tumors. GPx7 and GPx8 evolved the latest among the GPx enzymes and are present in the endoplasmic reticulum. Although lacking a glutathione binding domain, GPx7 and GPx8 possess peroxidase activity that helps the body respond to cellular stress.
