Article Abstract

Obtained was a five-valent vaccine (Leptospira pomona, L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. mitis, and L. icterohaemorrhagiae). It was found that storage at 4degreesC does not impair the immunogenicity of the vaccine in the course of one year. Three groups of rabbits were used to test its immunogenicity--group I, injected once, subcutaneously, with 1 cu. cm of the vaccine; group II, injected subcutaneously, twice, at an interval of 7 days, with 1 cu. cm of the vaccine each time; and group III, injected once, muscularly, with 1 cu. cm. The animals were kept under observation for twelve months. It was established that in the case of intramuscular treatment there were highest antibody titers in the blood serum persisting up to the twelfth month.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as an innovative approach in cancer treatment, effectively inducing tumor cell death through light-triggered reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Additionally, PDT can also trigger antitumor immune responses, thereby reducing the risk of postoperative tumor recurrence. However, the development of highly efficient photosensitizers aimed at activating immune responses for comprehensive tumor eradication remains at an early stage.

Background: Bladder cancer (BC) is a malignant tumor. Methyltransferase-like 7B (MEETL7B) is a methyltransferase and its role in BC has not yet been revealed.

Method: Stable METTL7B knockdown or overexpression were achieved by lentiviral transduction in SW780 and TCCSUP cell lines.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness and safety profiles of rivaroxaban compared to low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) in managing lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) subsequent to thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery.

Methods: Sixty patients diagnosed with lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) following thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery were randomly assigned to two groups: the experimental group comprising 30 patients treated with rivaroxaban, and the control group consisting of 30 patients treated with low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). The fundamental clinical characteristics of patients in both groups were documented, encompassing parameters, along with pre- and post-surgical lower limb vascular ultrasound findings.

Pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus undergoing glucocorticoid treatment to prevent neonatal respiratory distress syndrome could have increased glucose level. We performed a retrospective study and reviewed gestational diabetic women who received an intramuscular dexamethasone injection (6 mg, every 12 hours, 4 times) in our hospital between December 2018 and June 2020. Eligible pregnant women were assigned to the study group (with simultaneous subcutaneous insulin detemir injection, 2-4 units per day) or the control group (without insulin detemir injection).

Unlabelled: The activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome by hyperosmotic stress is a critical pathophysiological response in dry eye disease (DED), driving the chronic cycle of inflammation on the ocular surface. The specific mechanism underlying hyperosmotic mechanical stimulation activates the NLRP3 inflammasome remains unclear. This study provides evidence that PIEZO1, a mechanosensitive ion channel, functions as the primary receptor for corneal epithelial cells in sensing mechanical stimulation induced by tear hyperosmolarity.
