Externally accumulated flavonoid aglycones have been found for the first time in Nonea species. They exhibit only flavones, one of them being the rare tricetin-4'-methyl ether. Within the subfamily Boraginoideae, exudate flavonoids appear to be a rare character.

Plants and microorganisms coexist within complex ecosystems, significantly influencing agricultural productivity. Depending on the interaction between the plant and microbes, this interaction can either help or harm plant health. Microbes interact with plants by secreting proteins that influence plant cells, producing bioactive compounds like antibiotics or toxins, and releasing molecules such as N-acyl homoserine lactones to coordinate their behaviour.

, one of the world's most destructive invasive species, is known for causing significant ecological and economic harm. While extensive research has focused on its growth characteristics, secondary metabolites, and control measures, its chemical interactions with the environment-particularly the role of flavonoids in shaping soil microbial communities-remain underexplored. In this study, we identified and quantified ten flavonoids from root exudates using UPLC-MS, including Hispidulin, Isorhamnetin, and Mikanin.

Inhibiting pathogen chemotaxis is a promising strategy for reducing disease pressure. However, this strategy is currently in the proof-of-concept stage. Here, was used as a model, as its biflagellated zoospores could sense genistein, a soybean root exudate, to navigate host and initiate infection.

Background: Legumes, in the initial event of symbiosis, secrete flavonoids into the rhizosphere to attract rhizobia. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between crop root exudates and soybean nodule development under intercropping patterns.
Method: A two years field experiments was carried out and combined with pot experiments to quantify the effects of planting mode, i.
