The rhenium complexes (eta 5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)((CH2)nPR2:) (n/R = 0/Ph, 0/t-Bu, 0/Me, 1/Ph, 1/t-Bu), which contain electron-rich and sterically congested phosphido moieties, give active catalysts for the title reaction; typical conditions (toluene, 60-100 degrees C): aryl bromide (1.0 equiv.), PhB(OH)2 (1.5 equiv.), K3PO4 (2.0 equiv.), Pd(OAc)2 (1 mol%), and a Re(CH2)nPR2: species or a 1:2 [Re(CH2)nPR2H]+X-/t-BuOK mixture (4 mol% rhenium).

In recent years, photocatalytic materials with a nanofiber-like morphology have garnered a surge of academic attention due to their distinctive properties, including an expansive specific surface area, a considerable high aspect ratio, a pronounced resistance to agglomeration, superior electron survivability, and robust surface activity. Consequently, the synthesis of photocatalytic nanofiber materials through various methodologies has drawn considerable attention. The electrospinning technique has been established as a prevalent method for fabricating nanofiber-structured materials, owing to its advantageous properties, including the ability for mass production and the assurance of high continuity.

Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies on Intelligent Molecules, College of Chemistry, Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin 300387, China.

Peptide-based therapy is appealing in modern medicine owing to its high activity and excellent biocompatibility. Poor stability, leading to unacceptable bioavailability, severely constrains its clinical application. Here, we proposed a general supramolecular approach for improving the plasma resistance of a commercially available peptide agent, thymopentin.

Electronic address:

Single-crystal ultrahigh-nickel LiNiCoMnO (NCM) materials are recognized for significant potential in the development of high-performance lithium-ion batteries, primarily owing to their higher energy density and superior cycling performance compared to polycrystalline counterparts. However, these materials require high calcination temperatures, suffer from significant lithium/nickel mixing, and face challenges in composition control. Although high-activity oxide precursors prepared via spray pyrolysis can reduce calcination temperatures, the smaller particle size of the resulting NCM materials intensifies interfacial side reactions.

High-Performance Bi-Based Catalysts for CO₂ Reduction: In Situ Formation of Bi/Bi₂O₂CO₃ and Enhanced Formate Production.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

The unavoidable self-reduction of Bismuth (Bi)-based catalysts to zero-valence Bi often results in detrimental adsorption of OCHO, leading to unsatisfactory selectivity of HCOOH in the electroreduction of carbon dioxide (CO). A novel Bi-tannin (Bi-TA) complex is developed, which undergoes in situ reconstruction into a Bi/Bi₂O₂CO₃ phase during CO reduction. This reconstructed catalyst exhibits high activity and selectivity, achieving a Faradaic Efficiency (FE) for formate production exceeding 90%, peaking at 96%.

Multivariate Approaches Boosting Lithium-Mediated Ammonia Electrosynthesis in Different Electrolytes.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

January 2025

Department of Applied Science and Technology, Politecnico di Torino, Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24, Torino, 10129, Italy.

Ammonia electrosynthesis through the lithium-mediated approach has recently reached promising results towards high activity and selectivity in aprotic media, reaching high Faradaic efficiency (FE) values and NH production rates. To fasten the comprehension and optimization of the complex lithium-mediated nitrogen reduction system, for the first time a multivariate approach is proposed as a powerful tool to reduce the number of experiments in comparison with the classical one-factor-at-a-time approach. Doehlert design and surface response methodology are employed to optimize the electrolyte composition for a batch autoclaved cell.
