Published: June 2002

A field induced isomerization from cis to trans form in stereoregular cis-rich polyphenylacetylenes (PPAs) was found, and it provides an alternate method to control the order of chromophores in thin solid films.

Lactate, long viewed as a byproduct of glycolysis and metabolic waste. Initially identified within the context of yogurt fermentation, lactate's role extends beyond culinary applications to its significance in biochemical processes. Contemporary research reveals that lactate functions not merely as the terminal product of glycolysis but also as a nexus for initiating physiological and pathological responses within the body.

Introduction: This study evaluated the relationship between total plasma and free kidney concentrations of amphotericin B (AmB) in healthy and -infected Wistar rats using microdialysis and has the potential to significantly impact future research in this field and promote the development of antifungal drugs. The findings of this study, which show that plasma levels are a good predictor for AmB kidney concentrations and can be used to optimize its dosing regimen, underscore the importance of this research.

Methods: Microdialysis probe recovery rates were determined by dialysis and retrodialysis , as well as by retrodialysis .

The therapeutic effect of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is unsatisfactory. The immune "cold" microenvironment caused by tumor-associated fibroblasts (TAFs) has an adverse effect on the antitumor response. Therefore, in this study, mixed cell membrane-coated porous magnetic nanoparticles (PMNPs) were constructed to deliver salvianolic acid B (SAB) to induce an antitumor immune response, facilitating the transition from a "cold" to a "hot" tumor and ultimately enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Natural teeth fulfill functional demands by their heterogeneity. The composition and hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanostructured orientation of enamel differ from those of dentin. However, mimicking analogous materials still exhibit a significant challenge.

Medical procedures are inherently invasive and carry the risk of inducing pain to the mind and body. Recently, efforts have been made to alleviate the discomfort associated with invasive medical procedures through the use of virtual reality (VR) technology. VR has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for pain associated with medical procedures, as well as for chronic pain conditions for which no effective treatment has been established.
