Published: July 2002

We present a simple algorithm that makes possible the simulation of ronchigrams for any optical system in which it is possible to make an exact ray tracing. We report the simulations for the following grids: the Ronchi classical, square, circular, radial, circular-radial, biparabolic, elliptic-hyperbolic, bipolar, and bielliptic ones.

In adaptive beamforming, the array signal processing adjusts its sensor delays and weights based on the incoming data. In conventional beamforming, these parameters are instead given from a predefined model. Adaptive beamformers can improve measurement precision by dynamically rejecting spatial interference.

Memory consolidation from a reinforcement learning perspective.

Front Comput Neurosci

January 2025

Center for Synaptic Brain Dysfunctions, Institute for Basic Science, Daejeon, Republic of Korea.

Memory consolidation refers to the process of converting temporary memories into long-lasting ones. It is widely accepted that new experiences are initially stored in the hippocampus as rapid associative memories, which then undergo a consolidation process to establish more permanent traces in other regions of the brain. Over the past two decades, studies in humans and animals have demonstrated that the hippocampus is crucial not only for memory but also for imagination and future planning, with the CA3 region playing a pivotal role in generating novel activity patterns.

Background: Osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone tumor in children and adolescents, characterized by high disability and mortality rates. Over the past three decades, therapeutic outcomes have plateaued, underscoring the critical need for innovative therapeutic targets. Solute carrier (SLC) family transporters have been implicated in the malignant progression of a variety of tumors, however, their specific role in osteosarcoma remains poorly understood.

A comprehensive survey of scoring functions for protein docking models.

BMC Bioinformatics

January 2025

Bioinformatics Research Group (BioRG), Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University, 11200 SW 8th 10 St, Miami, 33199, USA.

Background: While protein-protein docking is fundamental to our understanding of how proteins interact, scoring protein-protein complex conformations is a critical component of successful docking programs. Without accurate and efficient scoring functions to differentiate between native and non-native binding complexes, the accuracy of current docking tools cannot be guaranteed. Although many innovative scoring functions have been proposed, a good scoring function for docking remains elusive.

Research on leakage and diffusion behavior of hydrogen doped natural gas in integrated pipeline corridors based on data drive.

Northwest Sichuan Gas District of Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company, Jiangyou, 621700, China.

With the wide application of hydrogen-doped natural gas (HBNG) in end users, laying pipelines in urban, comprehensive pipe corridors has become increasingly common. However, the leakage and diffusion of hydrogen-doped natural gas in confined or semi-confined spaces (e.g.
